Annual Night of Giving

This December, the Carey Design Build team proudly helped sponsor The Cure’s 3rd Annual Night of Giving, a heartwarming event dedicated to supporting the future of local students. By raising essential funds, this event ensures that The Cure can continue offering free resources. Some of those resources are life coaching, tutoring, events, and workshops for students in Dickinson and Iron Counties. This event is a unique opportunity for the community to come together and learn more about The Cure’s impactful work and future goals. The Annual Night of Giving helps the community discover ways to get involved in making a difference.

What is The Cure?

The Cure™ – Iron Mountain operates as a program of Live Life Loud Resources (L3 Resources), a nonprofit that Heather Ruesch founded in 2020. L3 Resources provides mediation, guidance, and mentorship to help students build self-awareness. Heather and mentors help establish healthy boundaries and gain practical tools for physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. The organization offers two main programs. The You Matter Tour™, which hosts Christian motivational and mental health assemblies, and The Cure™ Teen Coaching & Life-Skills Workshop in Iron Mountain, MI. These programs include school assemblies, retreats, conferences, mentorship, and workshops that help students incorporate healthy habits into their daily lives for overall wellness.

The Cure’s Approach

The Cure’s approach focuses on the idea that everyone has intrinsic value. No matter what they look like, how popular they are, or how successful they seem. It challenges the belief that self-worth depends on things like appearance, status, or achievements. The approach points out how low self-esteem, especially in students, can be worsened by bullying, peer pressure, and academic stress, all of which affect mental health. The key message is that our value comes from who we are, not from external factors. It encourages people to share their experiences, connect with others, and grow together to overcome challenges and live fulfilling lives.
